Ingun GKS-550 303 090 A 1500, Cupped Tip, 50mil

The INGUN GKS-550 303 090 A 1500 (INGUN item GKS-550-0005) is a short, robust test probe on the 1.27 mm (50 mil) grid. The GKS-550 family trades the extra length of the GKS-050 for a more compact 34.6 mm body, which keeps the probe-plate stack shallow and leaves less slender barrel exposed to side loading at fine pitch. It mounts in a KS-550 or KS-550 WL receptacle with quick exchange.

The 03 tip is an inverse cone: a smooth funnel that receives the end of a round lead and makes a ring of contact around it, so a post or pin that is slightly off-centre or bent is still contacted reliably. With no cutting points it is gentle on plated pins, which is why you would pick it over a slotted 19 cone — and why you would not pick it for oxidised or heavily tinned leads. At ø0.9 mm it is sized for the small pins found on fine-pitch connectors, and the 1.5 N spring gives it a firm seat.
