Ingun GKS-100 217 170 A 1500, Star Tip, 100mil

The INGUN GKS-100 217 170 A 1500 (INGUN item GKS-100-0107) is a standard-stroke test probe on the 2.54 mm (100 mil) grid with the largest head in the common GKS-100 line-up — ø1.7 mm. It plugs into a KS-100 receptacle and supports quick exchange.

The 17 tip is a self-cleaning hexagonal pyramid with cutting edges: a ring of edges around a broad face, so it cuts through flux and oxide across a wide footprint rather than at a single point. That combination — wide head, many bite points — makes it the tip to choose for large solder pads, through-hole leads and ground planes where landing accuracy is loose and contact must stay reliable over many cycles. The 1500 spring (1.5 N) is the mid force for the family, a reasonable default when a full 2 N per probe would put too much total load on the board.
