Generic PH-5B Probe, Needle Tip, 165mil

The PH-5B is a large-bodied, high-current spring-loaded test probe used where a standard signal probe cannot carry the load — power rails, battery and charger contacts, motor drives and any node that must be forced with amps rather than milliamps during functional test.

Everything about it is scaled up from a signal probe: a 2.5 mm spear tip, a 10 A rating, a 200 g spring, and a 10 mm working stroke that lets one probe span a deep or uneven target such as a connector shell or a heavy terminal. That travel also makes it useful as the first point of contact in a stack-up where the power connections must mate before the signal field lands. In exchange it is a physically large part: plan on 4.2 mm (165 mil) between probe centres and a 3.3 mm mounting hole, and treat it as a dedicated power probe rather than something to sprinkle through a signal grid.
