The P50-A2 is a spring-loaded test probe from the generic P50 family, the finest-pitch tier of the generic range, used to contact test points on dense PCBs during in-circuit and functional test. It mounts in a matching receptacle in the fixture's probe plate so probes can be swapped from the top without rewiring.
The A2 cupped tip seats over a rounded target rather than piercing a flat one, which makes it the P50 to pick for solder-bumped pads, wire ends and trimmed component leads. Its 0.9 mm tip is the largest contact face the P50 family offers while still holding a 1.22 mm (48 mil) minimum centre distance, so it suits boards that need cup-style contact at a pitch a P75 could not reach.
