Generic P100-H5, Crown Tip, 100mil

A P100-series spring test probe with an H5 crown tip, for use with a matching P100 receptacle in a fixture's probe plate. The P100 class is the 100 mil (2.54 mm) pitch workhorse that most in-circuit and functional test fixtures are built around — coarse enough to assemble and service easily, and the default starting point unless a board's test-point density forces a finer family.

The crown tip is a ring of points around an open centre. The points cut through flux residue and light oxide on a solder joint, the ring shape keeps contact tolerant of small landing errors, and the open centre lets displaced debris clear rather than packing into the tip and raising resistance over time. That combination is why the crown is the default ICT tip: move to a spear only when a target is too small for the crown to sit on, and to a cup when the target is a round lead rather than a flat pad.
