The Dev XL Cartridge, MDF is the probe-plate and pressure-plate assembly for the FixturFab Dev XL test fixture base. It is the long-format member of the Dev range: 447 × 218 mm of useable area against the standard Dev cartridge’s 196 × 180 mm, which is what to reach for when a board is long rather than large in both axes.
The MDF probe plate is the low-cost option, rated for about 1,000 test cycles — suited to bring-up and short validation runs where the board design is still moving and the cartridge may be rebuilt anyway. The G10 version of the same cartridge is the longer-lived alternative. Top probing is supported; there is no automated side probing, though cables can be connected by hand to right-angle connectors.
