Purpose-built insertion tool for installing press-fit receptacles on 0.100" (2.54mm) grid spacing. This heavy-duty version features a tip made from tool steel, for increased tool lifespan and lowering the risk of damaging a receptacle during installation. The slim-profile tip clears adjacent receptacles without interference, ensuring accurate installation in high-density test fixtures.
How It Works
Place the receptacle into the mounting hole with the termination side down until the press ring contacts the plate surface. Insert the nose of this tool over the top of the receptacle and lightly tap with a small hammer until the tool nose contacts the mounting plate. Use several light taps rather than a single blow—this provides at least double the pushout retention force.
