It mounts in a KS-550 or KS-550 WL receptacle with quick exchange.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe 03 tip is an inverse cone: a smooth funnel that receives the end of a round lead and makes a ring of contact around it, so a post or pin that is slightly off-centre or bent is still contacted reliably. With no cutting points it is gentle on plated pins, which is why you would pick it over a slotted 19 cone — and why you would not pick it for oxidised or heavily tinned leads.
