At 0.5 mm it is the smallest crown made, which is what lets it work at 50 mil (1.27 mm) pitch. The GKS-550 body is 34.6 mm against the 43.2 mm of the equivalent GKS-050, for shallower fixture stack-ups, and this particular item carries an unusually high 5 A rating for a probe of this diameter — well above the 2 A of most GKS-550 variants.

Tip style 14, 4-point crown, self-cleaning; tip diameter 0.5 mm (0.019 in)

Barrel diameter 0.78 mm (0.03 in), total length 34.6 mm (1.36 in)

Grid pitch 1.27 mm (50 mil); minimum centre distance 1.27 mm (50 mil)

Spring force 1 N at working stroke, pre-load 0.44 N

Working stroke 4.3 mm, maximum stroke 6.35 mm

Current rating 5 A, contact resistance 20 mΩ typical

Steel plunger, gold-plated

Contacts pins, posts and pads; receptacles KS-550, KS-550 WL.
